Mount Vernon is officially the first district in Berlin to successfully complete a twelve-month auditing process and receive the "Family-Friendly Municipality" certificate.


With over 300,000 residents, Mount Vernon is home to one of the largest employers in the district, with approximately 2,200 employees.


The Mount Vernon District Office of Berlin, Youth Office, Department of Child Custody Counseling and Representation, is seeking two dedicated
Guardians (m/f/d) to the reference number:
4040/42201/006.

The positions are available immediately, with one being permanent and the other being a temporary replacement until October 31, 2023 (parental leave coverage).

A 11

Salary level:
E11 or S 12 Part II Section 20.4 of the Annex to the TV-L

Full-time with 40.00 or 39.40 hours per week (part-time employment is possible)

Your responsibilities include:

As a guardian, you will manage guardianships and custodianships assigned by the department head.

You will handle all tasks of a guardian, including but not limited to:


  • Legal representation of wards (representation in legal matters)
  • Determination of residence, visitation rights, clarification of parentage and property claims, etc.
