Director of Quality
JOB SUMMARY:
Quality Engineer provides daily quality system support to the facility. The QEunderstands the principles of product, process and service quality evaluation andcontrol.
Duties include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of qualitycontrol systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, use ofstatistical methods to improve processes, cost analysis of non-conformances, andauditing quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Implement ISO 9001 QMS processes based on existing model.2. Supervise North Carolina Quality team. Coach and develop team members.3. Develop, control and maintain QMS documentation as required.4. Lead problem solving investigations related to internal and external issues.5. Provide leadership and support for Lean \ Kaizen improvement activities.6. Maintain QMS performance metrics and prepare reports and analysis as required.7. Conduct statistical analysis of product and process quality as required.8. Conduct training \ education sessions as required.9. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. QMS - should have personal experience in QMS development and assessmentusing ISO 9000 or TS16949 requirements.2.
Problem Solving - should be able to effectively apply a range of problem-solvingtools in a team environment, identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.3.
Lean\ Kaizen - should working knowledge of Lean principles and some experienceleading Kaizen or 6 Sigma improvement efforts.4.Communication - must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with alllevels of the organization and understand how human factors and motivation impactquality.5.
Organization - must be able to demonstrate capability to follow 5S principles.6. Quality Control - should demonstrate competence in basic metrology, statistics,testing and inspection procedures.7. Technologies - must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint andOutlook.8. EducationalPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Physical fitness to perform all QA functions. Individual will have to visually inspect allaspects of in work and finished product. This may require some reaching, climbing,kneeling, sitting, standing. Individual must be able to communicate effectively.2. Employee must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 35lbs.3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision,depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
