Valley Housing Foundation is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining Valley Housing Foundation various facilities located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley.


Responsibilities:


Perform routine maintenance on building interiors and exteriors; perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting; minor electrical and mechanical functions under Maintenance Supervisor's instructions and supervision.

Conduct routine inspections of facilities, as assigned, in order to maintain facilities in accordance with Hillview's standards; provide and make arrangements for access by outside contract maintenance vendors as directed by Maintenance Supervisor; order janitorial supplies; perform basic assessments of maintenance problems:
respond to maintenance emergencies as needed including after business hours response if needed.


Qualifications - Maintenance Technician

  • A minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience.
  • A valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Proof of a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass thorough background check.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Skills - Maintenance Technician
Basic operating knowledge of hand and power tools and their safety requirements.

  • Ability to perform a basic assessment of maintenance problems and make recommendations for their resolution. Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work where disabled individuals with mental disorders are being served.
  • Able to work both independently and under supervision.
  • Ability to understand and abide by agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, selfdriven and motivated.

Preferred Skills - Maintenance Technician
Bilingual Spanish-English, basic computer skills, experience working in a healthcare environment, experience working in a setting serving disabled individuals.


Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Required education:

High school or equivalent


Required experience:

Building Maintenance: 3 years

clean driving record and auto insurance


Required license or certification:

CA Driver License


Pay:
$ $22.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
