Mechanical engineers at Woods Hole are responsible for the design, testing, and development of products, as well as the planning and construction of machines and systems, or the management and supervision of production and assembly processes.

In theory, you will learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, such as math, physics, technical mechanics, manufacturing technology, materials, and Industry 4.0.

In the general mechanical engineering program, the focus is on production technology and automation. During practical phases, you will gain experience in areas such as testing, tooling, production, development, planning, and process development. You will work with a team of engineers with different areas of expertise to create new products and processes. The role of project management is crucial in overseeing the overall project and coordinating between various teams.

Qualifications

General or specialized university entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification with good to excellent grades, particularly in math and physics.

Strong interest in technical topics and business connections
