The Associate Executive Director is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the operation and management of the community in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Community and federal/state/local laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the following responsibilities listed below.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assist in the administration, selection, employment, discipline, and discharge of all personnel in accordance with administrative policy.
  • Supervise and/or assist with various departments as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Ensure efficient operations and compliance with the financial goals established in the approved budget.
  • Actively participate in marketing the services of all areas as requested ensure achievement of goals established in the annual operating budget.
  • Assist in development of Operating and Capital Expenditure Budget for the community.
  • Assist in preparation of variance analysis of Monthly Financial Statements utilizing Owner's format.
  • Participate in the Level of Care committee.
  • Promote a positive and efficient work atmosphere by assisting in establishing an organization, which has a formal system of accountability and clear chain of command.
  • Act professionally and honestly at all times in the representation of the Community concept of senior living.
  • Maintain a close liaison with residents and their organizations and communities, keeping informed at all times of their desires and requirements.
  • Maintain and safeguard the property of the community in accordance with accepted policies.
  • Exercise sound fiduciary responsibility while adhering strictly to the established policies and procedures of the Owners.
  • Cooperate to the fullest extent possible with all municipal, county, state, and federal agencies, departments, bureaus and commissions which maintain or exercise any regulatory authority over the community to include Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with all professional organizations, which have an interest in the medical, nursing, social service, educational and recreational aspects of the community.
  • Represent The Community and its organization to the community, including membership and active participation in community and professional organizations, to the extent duties at the community allow.
  • Pursue a personal program of continuing education in all relevant aspects of the senior living industry as determined appropriate by management.
  • Participate in planning and implementing strategies established for the efficient and effective operation of the community.
  • Participate in the development of the annual business plan by department, which supports the general longrange plan for the community.
  • Participate in all staff activities designed to develop teamwork, unity and promote morale.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The AED will supervise the Department Managers of the Assisted Living and Memory Community.

Educational Requirements and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Health Care, Business Administration or a health related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum of three years managerial experience preferably in the senior living, health care, or hospitality industries.
