POSITION OVERVIEW
United Warehouse Company is seeking a mechanically/technically-minded, people-oriented and results driven Maintenance Technician to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will handle a wide variety of tasks from basic carpentry, troubleshooting and managing facility issues, coordinating both preventative and reactive maintenance work to handling small building and grounds projects. It is important that the Maintenance Technician as a strong facilities maintenance acumen as much of the work is geared toward warehouse building maintenance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Evaluate and diagnose technical issues
• Manage and lead maintenance schedules on building and equipment
• Servicing equipment at regular intervals including, the replacement or repair of defective parts
• Perform a variety of skilled duties, such as: General cleaning, painting, resolve basic plumbing issues, general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks and materials handling equipment
• Regular use of hand power tools and building equipment
• Working with building access controls and security
• Coordinating work orders in a systematic and organized manner
• Being a team player – ability to work in teams, open and receptive to coaching and feedback with a willingness to learn
• Communicating effectively via phone, email and mail among staff
• Maintaining high attention to detail
• Responding to building and grounds requests in timely manner
• Examining, testing and isolating defects in equipment and replacing or repairing defective parts as needed, including wiring, switches, outlets and motors.
• Grounds keeping to include: disposal of trash, keeping walks clear and possible snow removal
• Maintaining records, reports and files appropriately
• Working with vendors and contractors to outsource maintenance projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-5 year(s) building and grounds experience
• Mechanical and technical maintenance understanding
• Ability to work in a manner that follows safety guidelines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Frequently complete tasks in a variety of working positions such as reaching, twisting, stooping, crouching and squatting
• Able to frequently lift up to 70lbs
