    Overview


    The Facilities Mechanic plays a crucial role in supervising the operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment and general facility upkeep.

    This position involves monitoring performance and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.


    Primary Responsibilities

    • Carry out maintenance and repairs on electric order pickers, electric reach trucks, and propane forklifts
    • Ensure all warehouse equipment and systems, such as conveyor systems and automated storage, function optimally to meet nightly production and shipping targets
    • Troubleshoot and efficiently repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical equipment in Material Handling Systems and Facilities
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on designated equipment and systems, and maintain repair logs and documentation
    • Install and assemble equipment, cabinetry, appliances, and furniture
    • Handle repairs on roofs, ceiling tiles, floors, partitions, windows, doors, plumbing, drywall, and paint
    • Manage parts inventory and procure necessary parts
    • Attend shop meetings and maintain personal tools
    • Refer to specifications, technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams to troubleshoot equipment problems
    • Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA guidelines
    • Ensure confidentiality regarding company operations and comply with all internal rules and regulations
    • Complete any other tasks as assigned

    Additional Primary Responsibilities

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 1 year of relevant experience
    • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and other job-related software applications
    • Strong interpersonal, customer service, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Preferably, experience or certification in operating forklifts

    Physical Demands

    • Frequent periods of sitting and driving a motor vehicle
    • Considerable time spent on walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
    • Possible requirement for additional hours during peak periods such as October, November, and December
    • May involve working at heights exceeding 8 feet and lifting up to 56lbs
