    JOB SUMMARY

    The Chief People and Culture Officer position is a hands-on leadership role responsible for human resource functions, including compensation and benefits, learning and development, talent acquisition, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, payroll, as well as safety and compliance. The CPCO leads all culture practices to ensure a positive employee experience aligned with the core values and mission of the organization.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Leadership

    • Manage, mentor and coach direct reports in setting performance standards and providing individualized professional development plans for each member, thereby ensuring high employee performance.
    • Provide advice and strategic counsel to CEO, particularly in regard to organizational design and growth.
    • Play an active role in the strategic deliberations of the senior leadership team.
    • Provide strategic, mission-driven stewardship of Foodlink resources which includes active participation in the annual budget process and leadership over the payroll, fringe and professional development budgets and related financial management and reporting.

    Human Resources

    • Lead and develop strategies for all HR matters including compensation and benefits.
    • Develop comprehensive recruitment and retention plans to meet staffing needs and promote DEI
    • Resolve employee relations issues
    • Provide advice and guidance to management related to labor relations.
    • Manage relationships with outside vendors and community partners for recruiting, benefits, etc.
    • Leads internal retirement committee 401(k) and board HR Committee
    • Oversight of bi-weekly payroll process and annual payroll related requirements.

    Compliance

    • Maintains knowledge and compliance of federal and state employment laws
    • Ensures compliance with worker's comp and safety programs
    • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the staffing and training functions; ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
    • Culture, Safety & Wellness
    • Ensure that the organization's values are reflected in people-oriented decisions.
    • Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures to support effective, inclusive, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the organization
    • Identify, create and implement opportunities to promote diversity, equity and inclusion at Foodlink.
    • Oversee employee engagement strategies and the implementation of learning & development programs
    • Explore creative, progressive and holistic ways to support employees in conjunction with the Employee Development Specialist
    • Promote the well-being and safety of all employees, supporting the work of the Safety & Compliance Senior Manager
    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred.
    • Active HRIC and/or SHRM certification strongly preferred
    • Eight–ten years hands on work experience in the human resource area combined with 5 or more years in a leadership position.
    • Expert level knowledge of NY State Labor laws
    • High level of emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills; ability to make sound judgments
    • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to diverse audiences with different lived experiences
    • Strong project management skills
    • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems and payroll processing systems (Paylocity).
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Effectively prioritize an ever-changing workload in a responsible and efficient manner.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    This is a full-time position paid on a salary basis, ranging from $116,000-$145,794/annual (DOE). Foodlink covers 100% of individual health and dental insurance with the ability to acquire family coverage with pretax dollars. In addition to generous paid time off (PTO), we observe 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Opportunity to contribute to a 401k retirement savings plan upon hire. Eligible for generous employer match after 1 year of service.
