The City of Claremont is seeking a full-time Deputy Building Inspector & Health Officer, in the Planning and Development DepartmentPrimary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Inspecting properties for compliance with the Property Maintenance code and enforce violations, including court citations and documentation
- Conducting annual food inspections and other health code related duties, as assigned
- Inspecting buildings and structures during construction, repair, and alteration to ensure compliance, with applicable state and city regulations and building codes, as well as adherence to specifications and plans
- Performing facility inspection for schools or day care facilities, as required by New Hampshire, as part of the State certification programs.
- Assisting contractors, public, and other City staff with related questions or concerns, regarding City code regulations
- Three years of experience in property maintenance, real estate, public health, or building trades construction, or two years as a Municipal or County property maintenance, health or building inspector.
- An Associate's degree in a related field is desirable and may be substituted for two years of experience.
- A ServeSafe Management Certificate, National Certification for Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector, International Building & Residential Codes
Compensation & Benefits
Salary of up to $70,958.85/Year DOE
