The
Payment Innovation Director II is responsible for Payment Innovation business solution research, design, development, and conceptualizing innovative payment solutions for healthcare providers thru provider collaboration and strategy, validating and framing the business requirements.

Responsible for a diverse portfolio of payment innovation solutions and leading large, multi-stakeholder teams.


How you will make an impact:

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of revenue and cost of care initiatives enterprise wide (e.g. local, within each state, across business segments and at the enterprise level) to accomplish the financial objectives for Carelon and our Health Plan clients.
  • Develops, manages, oversees, and executes new and innovative initiatives to manage rising costs and enhance the company's market competitiveness.
  • Oversees the identification of potential cost of care savings opportunities through complex analytics via partnering with the cost of care analytics team, to developing action plans, benefits and risk assessments and overseeing and partnering with the actuarial team to develop and ensure accurate savings quantification.
  • Manages and presents cost of care projects to senior leadership including Carelon and State Plan Leadership, e.g. Presidents, Medical Directors, Finance Directors, etc.
  • Responsible for reporting and delivery of key information to senior management to generate cost saving or revenue enhancement ideas and achievement of financial targets.
  • Drives the execution of payment innovation strategies.
  • Creates and initiates business solution development, works with other business partners to guide and support solution development, pilot and solution launch activities, and develops and strategic roadmaps that drive business solutions.
  • Develops and designs processes and systems that support business needs.
  • Translates complex information and coordinates the communication and implementation of key decisions and accomplishments.
  • Leads special projects/initiatives.
  • Represents the company in external meetings and provides influence in the payer and healthcare industry.

Minimum Requirements:


Requires BA/BS in business or related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience in healthcare systems, and 8 years of experience in a strategy role; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.


Preferred Skills, Capabilities, & Experiences:


  • Previous experience leading design and execution of Value Based Payment Models preferred strongly preferred.
  • Cost of care experience
  • Health outcomes experience
