We are looking for an Program Consultant who can demonstrate leadership, decisiveness, and a spirit of collaboration.

At Merced Behavioral Center, you will be working with an at-risk population of the mentally disabled and assist them in their daily needs.

Specifics of the Job:

Be accepted by the State of California as a full time STP consultant.


State Requirements (Approved Disciplines):

  • Psychologist
  • Social Worker
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Recreation Therapist
  • Art Therapist
  • Dance Therapist
  • Music Therapist
  • Any other related discipline approved by the State of California

A minimum of one year of experience or training in a mental health setting.

  • Ensure STP compliance with Title 22 regulations.
  • Provide inservices to staff and helps with overall staff education.
  • Makes observations about the effectiveness of treatment groups and materials.
  • Assists STP staff in identifying particular treatment needs of residents on an ongoing basis.
  • Be able to demonstrate deescalation techniques.
  • Able to help maintain all STP records and help collate data, findings, and statistics regarding trends and studies.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with residents.
  • Instructs staff regarding appropriate approaches to various psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Assist Program Director in the completion of STP certifications of the residents.
  • Assist staff in the completion of Doctor Declarations in preparation of conservatorship proceedings.
  • Be able to effectively counsel residents on a 1:1 basis.
  • To be a mentor to the Program Counselors and Assistant Program Counselors
  • Be a part of the Multi-Disciplinary treatment team.
  • Assist Program Director in training/Orientation of new hires.

Shift(s) Available:


  • Dayshift, Monday thru Friday, 8 hours a day.

Wage is negotiable based on mental health experience.

Pay:
From $29.00 per hour
