DEFINITION:
Provides day-to-day coordination of the activities of the North Campus Learning Lab; schedules and oversees the work of part-time professional and student tutors and staff; participates in recruitment, selection, and training of tutors; participates in development of center programs, activities, and procedures.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives immediate to general supervision from the Director of the Learning Lab and higher academic staff.
Co-supervises Lead Tutor along with the Learning Lab Coordinator
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Oversees the day-to-day functions of the North Campus Learning Lab.
Maintains student tracking log-in system (TutorTrac).Assists with hiring and training of program employees.
Utilizes CFCC's early alert system to ensure that the most at-risk students are receiving appropriate instructional support.
Work collaboratively with North Campus faculty to develop content specific programming and support materials.
Provides general assistance to students in area(s) of expertise.
Oversees part-time Lead Tutor when this person is at the North Campus.
Oversees North Campus Learning Lab scheduling and contracting of part-time tutors each semester.
Oversees North Campus Learning Lab payroll each month.
Provides supervision and guidance to part-time Tutors and Front Desk Staff. Collaborates with Learning Lab Coordinator
Other Important Functions:
Serves as liaison with North Campus faculty and staff.
Activates students for Learning Lab services and files associated forms.
Periodically checks student sign-ins (when they reach 10 hours or greater) for overlaps with scheduled class times.
Assists with North Campus end-of-semester FTE reporting.
Performs minor adjustments on equipment.
Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies, materials, and equipment pertinent to the North Campus Learning Lab.
Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
Basic tutorial strategies and techniques. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Basic mathematical principles.
Ability To:
Ability to organize employees' availability and create work schedules.
Able to maintain accurate records.
Able to work independently in the absence of supervisors. Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Minimum Education/Training:
Associate degree from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution with documented successful completion of undergraduate coursework in desired tutoring discipline(s). 3 or more years of tutoring and/or teaching experience in a college or university setting.
Preferred Education/Training Bachelor's Degree in English, Math, or Science. Experience supervising employees.
Competency in advanced use of computers. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, browsers and the Internet. Experience working with students in a teaching/learning environment.
