The ideal candidate will have the desire to apply accounting and finance knowledge acquired through prior roles to the unique challenges of a professional sports franchise.
This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and will support a variety of accounting and finance related efforts, including but not limited to the following:Development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and checklists.
Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assist the VP of Finance with the annual GAAP audit and timely financials, as well as various financial reports.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsOversee the revenue and expense recognition process so that it follows contract terms.
Assist with preparing the budget and financial forecasts including League reporting for Hockey Related RevenueRecruit and mentor team of accounting personnel, helping guide their professional development.
Collaborate with the team to develop efficient reporting strategies including automation and simplification of accounting and reporting processes.Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Other dutiesRequired Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA/CPA a plus6+ years' relevant work experience including in public accounting and/or financial planning and analysis preferredStrong proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Accounting Software), Concur (AP & Expense Platform), and/or Archtics (Ticketing Software) a plusExperience building budgets, forecasts, and financial modelsKnowledge of sports business or prior industry experienceAbility to learn quickly, open to change, and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasksStrong organizational skills, great attention to detail, ability to communicate and collaborate with varying levels of employees and managementA high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.

In accordance with Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the starting salary range for this role is $105,000 to $120,000.
