Main Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of this full time contractual position is to provide direct care to a variety of children and adolescents and their families, through clinical service such as individual, group and family therapy, to facilitate attainment of improved mental health and more effective social and family functioning.

This position acts as a primary therapist and case manager within a multidisciplinary team.

Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility.

An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.


Experience:

Two years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.

As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled.

The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.

You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.

This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
