JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Driver to transport clients in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. The position is responsible for daily transportation at the Day Program.

Ensure that all contractual and programmatic requirements are met consistently and will address and resolve all concerns within the program in an efficient and timely manner.


Essential Job Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out agency policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the programs offered at iCare Health Services (iCHS), LLC.
  • Be part of the team in the daytoday operations of the Day programs to include transportation requirements, management and ensure that contractual and programmatic requirements are met consistently.
  • Be part of the Direct care staff on duty
  • Driving clients daily by picking them and dropping off at their resident.
  • Transporting staff and clients for field trips and outing
  • Maintaining the vehicle safe and clean
  • Using navigation apps to determine the best route
  • Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
  • Pick up clients from their resident and at the time they've requested with schedule
  • Exhibit appropriate role model behavior by using appropriate language, dress, manners, and respect.
  • Ensure healthy clean and safe program environment
  • Document routes
  • Supervising members and provide emotional support when needed
  • Attend to needs when requested
  • Assist clients with loading and unloading their personal belongings
  • Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay uptodate on road conditions
  • Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
  • Answer clients' questions about the area and local places of interest
  • Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders
  • Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
  • Book car wash and detailing services to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the car
  • Constant updates of issues and concerns with direct supervisor.
  • Making sure clients depend on us for their transportation needs
  • Assist with any forms of transportation needs and DTA functions

Hours:
Monday - Friday 6 am - 9 am; 1 pm - 6 pm


LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION NEEDED


To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations.

Note that you don't need to have a car; we provide drivers with our own vehicles.


Ability to satisfactorily complete all necessary in-service training, and ability to obtain CPR and basic first aid, Article 9, Fingerprint card, Prevention /Support.


Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a Driver
  • A valid driver's license
  • A clean driving record
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
  • Excellent organizations skills and able to multitask
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
  • Availability from Monday to Friday
  • A polite and professional disposition
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high school diploma
  • Ability to use judgment
