Woodbury, NY Medical/Public Records Administrative Assistant (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- High school degree. Prior record retrieval experience and/or prior legal office administrative experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook, in particular).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Process and obtain records from various providers and entities.
- Review records chart to determine outstanding requests for records that need follow up;
- Update and maintain records chart and follow up chart as records are received;
- Communicate regarding status of records retrieval;
- Data entry in firm's document management system;
- Navigate websites for processing of medical records through required portals;
- Update records chart tracking incoming and outstanding records and maintaining notes;
- Coordinate with support services, opposing law firms and courts;
- Calendar management for processing records;
- Follow up for outstanding records;
- Review and process invoices for payment of records;
- Send payment to corresponding providers;
- Save records retrieved;
- Prepare and enter billing entries; and
- Additional administrative duties.
