Description
The Bone and Joint Center is looking for an
Authorization Specialist to join its team.

This position will be responsible for verifying and obtaining authorizations as required by insurance companies dependent upon the plan coverage for all patients.


Additional responsibilities include:
- preparing reports of daily activity as requested for management
- performing financial reviews and calculations based upon information received from the insurance company or plan
- assisting with logĂ­stical and/or clerical problem resolution related to the patient's medical record, authorization and billing issues.


Requirements:


  • Experience in obtaining Insurance authorizations.
  • Understanding of clinic operations and patient registration
  • Knowledge of different insurance policies
  • Case management experience
  • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of 3rd party insurance process
  • Understanding of insurance payor reimbursement, authorization, collection practices, practice management systems followup helpful.
  • Medical terminology
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Researches and corrects invalid or incorrect patient demographic information such as invalid phone number or insurance policy number to ensure proper billing.
  • Works and assists with the billing department in researching and resolving rejected authorized claims.
  • Accurately documents patient accounts of all actions taken.

Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour

Experience:
