Duties:


_Please Note:

Employees will be required to report to their assigned office location at least 2 day per week for non-supervisory positions and 3 days per week for supervisory/managerial positions unless the position advertised is designated as a remote-only position.

The position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Division of the Controller Accounting Analytics & Reporting Group, and is under the direct supervision of the Accounting Analytics & Reporting Director.

The department is responsible for the accounting and various financial reporting of the Bank's loans, guarantees, and related claims, debt rescheduling programs and certain administrative accounting activities.


This unit is responsible for various financial and accounting reports that are prepared for EXIM management, other agencies, for government-wide financial reporting, and external private sector parties.

Responsibilities include maintaining the accounting framework and system of controls that has an impact on financial reporting, preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, processing and maintaining intra-governmental payments and collections, ensuring the financial statements and other reports meet applicable accounting standards and reporting directives issued by U.S.

Treasury, OMB, Government Accountability Office and Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently analyze complex accounting topics, including interpretation of new guidance which did not previously exist and proposes solutions to management.
  • Monitors, tracks, and takes the necessary actions to ensure that all financial and/or accounting transactions are recorded properly in the applicable system in a timely manner to ensure the continuing accuracy of EXIM's financial records.
  • Performs detailed research and analysis, reconciliation, examination, and interpretation of credits and their
agreements to ensure accurate outstanding balances, maturity dates, principal outstanding, accruals, and repayment schedules.

  • Independently prepares financial statements and accompanying disclosures as well as annual management reports in accordance with the circulars issued by Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the standards issued by Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), as well as analyze significant changes in lineitem balances.
  • Prepares various required financial reporting, schedules, comparative analysis, and reports to support findings and advise stakeholders and relationship managers of potential discrepancies.
  • Performs detailed reviews of information systems file reconciliations validating the accounting and data integrity of administrative accounting credits to ensure accurate outstanding balance, maturity dates, principal outstanding, accruals, repayment schedule, and other accounting are accurate and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and advises management of changes.
  • Provides timely customer service to internal and external customers, including financial auditors.
  • Provides formal briefings and meetings making recommendations to the Director and the Controller on matters relating to the development of Bank policies, accounting, reporting and/or transaction systems and operating procedures as they relate to the Division's responsibilities.

Qualifications:


Basic Requirements:

Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") - or

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.

The applicant's background must also include _one of_ the following:

  • Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law;
  • A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or
  • Completion of the requirements for a degree that included subst
