Description
Cleveland Clinic Akron General (CCAG) is seeking a full-time BC/BE General Adult Psychiatrist or Certified Consult-Liaison (CL) Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services and oversight to a growing consult liaison service line.
Advanced training as CL/Psychosomatic Medicine specialist is desired though not required.The Department of Behavioral Sciences at CCAG provides a full scope of services including a 55 bed inpatient service, Interventional Psychiatry with ECT and TMS, adult outpatient clinics with both psychology and psychiatry, Intensive outpatient services (IOP), Alcohol, Drug Rehabilitation Centers (ADRC), outpatient Geriatric clinics and a new Child Psychiatric clinic.
We support a fully matched new Psychiatric Residency Training Program with its inaugural class in July 2021, now moving into PGY3, with an eventual total membership of 16 places.
We are a primary teaching site for Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM).
We also support a one year post PhD Psychology Residency.The department also participates in clinical and translational research and is supported by a comprehensive research department. Publishing is encouraged and supported.
Faculty appointment and participation in residency training is integral to the role of CL attending.
CL services support a 500+ bed inpatient service both multidisciplinary medical, surgical and Gynecological/Obstetric, as well as a level one trauma, state of the art, Emergency Department, with psychiatric triage and social work support.
Appointment through Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute (CCF-NI) can be arranged as appropriate.Interested candidates please include your current CV and letter of interest with your application.
