    Job Description

    Emergent Talent, a division of Emergent Method, is searching for dynamic candidates to assist in testing activities for a significant statewide system. This full-time, remote opportunity is currently set to run until November 2024, with the possibility of extension.

    The ideal candidate should be skilled, self-driven, and capable of handling various system-testing tasks. They must be adaptable, comfortable in a fast-paced setting, and ready to tackle the challenges of supporting the ongoing growth and success of a diverse workforce, potentially involving remote or mobile work regularly.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collaborating with various project tracks to comprehend, develop, and test product requirements
    • Assisting in functional testing, deployment tasks, and defect resolution
    • Executing scenarios for test cases, covering functional, regression, and smoke tests
    • Verifying that components meet technical design specifications
    • Recording test outcomes and collaborating with developers and business analysts on interpreting functional requirements
    • Handling, prioritizing, and reporting discovered defects
    • Monitoring defect statuses using Jira and aiding in creating progress dashboards
    • Conducting meetings with development and client counterparts to address testing-related issues
    • Creating documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Demonstrating aptitude in organizing and establishing team management procedures
    • Regularly updating client and internal management on project statuses
    • Following documentation to generate, modify, and review external interface files
    • Establishing and nurturing relationships and work agreements with clients and team members
    Qualifications

    Preferred candidates should exhibit the following attributes:

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
    • Aptitude for swiftly reviewing and comprehending documentation to support testing
    • Proficiency in SQL, including basic select queries and joins
    • Experience in IT application testing and/or User Acceptance Testing
    • Familiarity with system-testing tools (e.g., Jira and Jama)
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
    • Basic knowledge of Louisiana's corrections programs/systems is advantageous
    • Familiarity with the system development life cycle or related coursework is a bonus
    • Openness to learning new technologies and acquiring additional skills
