    Description

    As a Heavy Duty Construction Mechanic you will play a critical role in the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy-duty construction equipment. Your expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues will be essential in keeping our equipment operational and minimizing downtime on construction projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on heavy-duty construction equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.

    2. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems in construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and other specialized machinery.

    3. Conduct repairs and replacements on components including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, undercarriages, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.

    4. Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and technical resources to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently.

    5. Test repaired equipment to verify proper functionality and safety compliance before returning it to service.

    6. Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately, including parts usage, labor hours, and equipment history.

    7. Collaborate with equipment operators, supervisors, and project managers to prioritize repairs and coordinate equipment availability for construction projects.

    8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop or field environment, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.

    9. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to heavy-duty construction equipment maintenance and repair.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Construction Mechanic, preferably in a construction or heavy equipment rental company.

    Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components commonly found in heavy-duty construction equipment.

    Proficiency in using diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.

    Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical specifications to guide repair processes.

    Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

    Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

    Certification from a recognized vocational or technical institution in heavy-duty equipment mechanics is preferred.
