- Lead and manage direct report and cross-functional teams
- Develop, execute, and validate plant sanitation systems while monitoring progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Establish effective and efficient sanitation programs and practices, ensuring adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule and documentation.
- Conduct training for sanitation employees on safety, food safety, regulatory requirements, and company-specific protocols.
- Participate in plant inspections and audits to address issues related to food and plant safety, coordinating corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including OSHA, EEOC, and SQF standards.
- Highly refined people management, planning, and organization skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant federal and state regulations related to quality and food safety
- Expertise in sanitation within food manufacturing environments
- Ability to design and implement sanitation practices for wet and dry facilities
- Familiarity with CIP/COP systems and sanitary equipment design
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and cleaning tools
- Understanding of basic chemistry and math skills (percentages, proportions, etc.)
- Knowledge of Lock out/Tag out procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, SAP, and Intelex
- Proven ability to provide proactive leadership and manage conflicts efficiently
- Physical ability to climb ladders, crawl under equipment, and work in tight spaces
- Self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working under limited direction
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations
- Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred or relevant experience
- 3+ years' experience in a food processing plant is preferred.
- Experience building and managing a MSS and ensuring compliance with GMPs and USDA/FDA regulations.
- Experience with GFSI third party audits (SQF, BRC, etc.) preferred.

Benefits:The Sanitation Team Leader oversees sanitation activities, supports multiple plants, and handles continuous improvement, scheduling, and record-keeping, while also serving as a backup to the Food Safety Manager. They also work on building internal relationships and promoting a culture of High-Performance Work Practices, especially safety, are critical, with the role primarily involving standing in a manufacturing facility and some time spent sitting in an office setting.
Schedule: M-F 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Salary: $50,000-60,000 annually
