DESCRIPTION:

Are you a highly motivated individual seeking to enhance your expertise in business processes? Do you have a passion for meticulous documentation and organizational tasks? Do you enjoy collaborating with individuals with diverse professional backgrounds, experiences, and roles?

  • The Watershed Protection Department's Office of Performance Management is in search of a temporary Business Process Specialist to join the team for a duration of 612 months or until the project is successfully completed. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department.
  • As a Business Process specialist, you will collaborate closely with members of the Office of Performance Management, and it will have provide you the unique opportunity to engage with leadership and staff across all levels and sections of the department. Your responsibilities will involve conducting meetings with staff members, gaining insights into the intricacies of their roles, assisting them in documenting their procedures, and meticulously reviewing the documentation before finalizing for adoption.
    TRAVEL:

If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties.

Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these location

  • Assists in planning, executing and closing projects in a variety of operational and/or administrative situations related to specific assignments/areas.- 2. Develops and maintains databases to support data analysis and research findings for business projects.- 3. Assists in preparation of recommendations for implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and/or process changes/improvements.- 4. Write reports that summarize findings, data collection techniques, implementation options, etc.- 5. Establishes project schedules using project planning software/tools, updates and maintains project status reports. Communicate project/process status.- 6. Conduct research, analyze trends, determine accuracy and relevancy of data/information, and use sounds judgment to evaluate alternatives.- 7. Facilitates and documents meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting methodologies.- 8. Maintains positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support.
