Overview:
We are seeking a Community Employment Specialist / Job Coach in the Edinboro area to play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to gain and maintain meaningful employment, while also encouraging active participation in their communities.
As an Employment Specialist / Job Coach, you'll assist individuals in building job skills, crafting resumes, preparing for interviews, and navigating the workplace to foster independence and inclusion.
Please note:
This position requires the use of your own vehicle and is part-time with no guaranteed weekly hours. Scheduling is based on client needs and may vary week to week.
What you'll need:
Must be 18 years or olderHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid, active driver's licensePre-hire clearances:State Police Criminal Record CheckChild Abuse ClearanceFBI Clearance (if you have not lived in PA for the past 2 years)
Ability to pass ACRE and CPR/First Aid CertificationFlexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as neededA typical day-to-day may include:
Assisting with community outings to promote skill development and engagementProviding transportation and support during community activitiesHelping individuals create professional resumes and prepare for interviewsCoaching individuals on workplace behaviors and job skillsAccompanying individuals at job sites and offering hands-on supportCollaborating with employers to identify opportunities and ensure accommodationsMonitoring progress, addressing challenges, and celebrating achievementsDocumenting services and maintaining compliance with regulationsWhat you'll bring:Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with individuals, families, and employersA desire to be active in the community and build partnerships with local businessesPatience, empathy, and motivation to support individuals in overcoming challengesSkills to coach individuals through resume building, interview prep, and job successPerks with a Purpose Our benefits are created with YOU in mind.
