Job Selection Expectations:

Applications, resumes, letters of reference, and written samples will be reviewed for required certification; demonstrated related knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to communicate effectively. As candidates progress through the selection process, they may be asked to perform additional written exercises, complete panel interviews, and perform a sample lesson related to the subject area.

Application Requirements:

Applicants are expected to possess a valid and appropriate certificate for the vacant position at the time of application as well as all necessary clearances. Additional qualifications and experience will be considered and may be necessary or desirable for individual positions, along with a demonstrated competency in writing and communication skills.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of child development and learning characteristics for late primary/elementary grades
  • Understanding of state and national academic standards for grade 3, including ELA, math, science, and social studies
  • Deep knowledge of effective reading instruction, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing integration
  • Familiarity with foundational numeracy instruction and problem-solving strategies
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction strategies to support diverse learners
  • Understanding of formative and summative assessment methods and how to use data to inform instruction
  • Skill in designing and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration through instruction
  • Competence in integrating technology and digital tools to enhance learning
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and support their social-emotional growth
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Skill in adapting instruction for students with disabilities and advanced learners
  • Ability to monitor, document, and communicate student progress clearly and effectively
  • Capacity to create a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment
  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice
  • Willingness to collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff
  • Ability to engage families as partners in their child's learning and development
  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills to respond to students' individual needs and classroom dynamics

Anticipated Duration:

Full-Time Employee (beginning in the school year)
