Role Overview:

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Dating Workshop Teaching Assistant to join our team.

This role is designed for individuals passionate about supporting adults with autism and other Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DDs) in navigating the complexities of dating.

The workshop is set to commence on May 2nd, meeting every Thursday from 8-9 PM for 8-weeks, and is geared towards individuals aged 18 and over.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing the VES Dating Workshop curriculum, designed to empower participants with knowledge and confidence in the dating world.
• Work closely under the guidance of the workshop leader to facilitate engaging and insightful sessions.
• Track participants' progress and contribute to the adaptation of sessions based on observed needs and feedback.
• Engage with participants to create a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging open discussions and positive interactions.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with adults with autism and other I/DDs in educational, therapeutic, or community settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
• Initiative and independence in assisting with session planning and execution.
• Empathy, respect, and a commitment to the personal and social development of participants.
• Teaching license in Special Education or a related field is preferred but not required.
