SUMMARY:
_ _The Housekeeping Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the daily operations of the housekeeping staff. S/He will promote a safe working environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor will work with supervisors, inspectors, and other members of the housekeeping team to ensure maximum efficiency.

The Housekeeping Supervisor shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel's Culture.

Functions

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Supervise daily operations in maintenance and sanitation of the guestrooms, public areas, and pool/spa
  • Recommend and implement procedural changes
  • Prepare and adjust weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts.
  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled. Document any late or absent team member.
  • Coordinate breaks and assign work duties to staff.
  • Provide proper training and reinforcement to meet standards and requirements
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service
  • Promote sanitation, safety, security efforts, and guest services of the Hotel.
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Ensure Guest Cleaninliness scores for the hotel are monitored and improved through direct efforts.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are inspected, cleaned, and in proper operational conditions at all times.
  • Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Assist in cleaning of guestrooms and public areas as needed (during low and peak occupancy)
  • Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Follow hotel policy with lost/stolen items
  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
  • Complete monthly inventories of linen supplies, and equipment
  • Investigate new and improved cleaning methods and instruments

Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Experience:


  • Thorough knowledge of the housekeeping field
  • Exceptional guestfocus
  • Supervisorial experience
  • Fluency in other languages beneficial

Job Requirements:


  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must have general computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be detailed orientated and work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
  • Must have excellent guest and associate relations skills. Skilled in problem solving by identifying the problem and working through it.
  • Possess strong leadership, motivational, organizational and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:


  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 35 lbs with assistance
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
  • Must be able to work in variable room temperatures
