    We have an exciting opportunity for a Master's level Social Work or Mental Health Counseling student to intern at ChildServe What You'll Do

    • Research topics of interest for families/patients and staff.
    • Use research to maintain parent handouts and develop presentations.
    • Observe assessment and therapeutic sessions within mental health to identify treatment providers for psychological disorders and the training required for each.
    • Present cases orally and in writing.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews with supervision.
    • Conduct individual, family and group therapy with supervision.
    • Other clinical and social work related tasks as agreed.
    What You'll Need

    • Enrollment in a Master's of Social Work or Mental Health Counseling program
    • Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.
    • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
    • Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and Child
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
    • Ability to interpret and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
    • Understanding of counseling skills such as active listening, reflecting and summarizing and desire to learn and strengthen.
    • Experience managing both remote and in person tasks and communication effectively.
    • This position may be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. If applicable, specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process
    Schedule/Time Frame

    • Schedule negotiable; afternoon/early evening availability ideal
    • Time frame negotiable, one semester to one academic year
    This internship is an unpaid opportunity. The role can be offered to those applicants seeking course credit and/or specific college internship requirements.
