Qualifications:


  • Design and implement a process for the provision of social work services for students enrolled in the building of assignment, including developmental assessments and studies, crisis intervention and deescalation, and provide necessary services to students.
  • Assist with the development, management, and delivery of a comprehensive Tier 2 and Tier 3 socialemotional support program.
  • Support socialemotional goals for students with individualized education plans.
  • Facilitate Tier 2 and Tier 3 psychoeducational groups for students
  • Provide preventative and responsive services to students
  • Collect and analyze data to help guide program development and implementation
  • Provide professional development experiences for all school personnel in order to foster a deeper understanding of student needs.
  • Consistently participate in team meetings for identification, evaluation, and design of intervention programs.
  • Connect with parents and utilize community resources to bring the school, student, home and community together in support of student needs.
  • Provide parental education, consultation, and/or counseling as appropriate in relation to a student's needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching and related service staff to develop and sustain an educational climate conducive to the optimum development of all students.

Purpose:
The purpose of a school social worker in Elmhurst CUSD 205 is to positively impact the
- achievement of all students by addressing the developmental needs of students through the
- delivery of a comprehensive school social work program that addresses the academic and social-emotional development of all students.

Social workers collaboratively work with students, administrators, teachers, parents, and the community to promote student success and respond to identified student needs.

This position starts for the school year.

  • IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Social Work is required and registered in DuPage County.
