    Expected pay range: $25.37 to $33.42 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and skill set.

    As the Freight Classification Specialist Lead, your focus on details and strong work ethic will contribute to the smooth operation of our processes, providing excellent service to our customers. You will meticulously examine each shipment and ensure the accuracy of commodity descriptions based on the provided Bill of Lading (BOL).     What you'll do on a typical day:

    • Review inspection reports to spot potential issues
    • Conduct inspections of shipments using handheld devices
    • Verify accuracy of BOL and billing descriptions
    • Collect shipment details such as dimensions, images, and commodity traits
    • Research commodity information using NMFC
    • Make document corrections as per NMFC provisions
    • Upload documents/pictures for review
    • Maintain reports to track corrections and revenue recovery

    What you need to succeed at XPO:

    Minimum requirements:

    • 4 years of work or military experience
    • Ability to clarify classification corrections for all parties
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite
    • Proficient in online research using specific keywords
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Flexible availability for various shifts

    Preferred qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Knowledge of NMFC provisions and packaging
    • Experience in weights and inspections
    • Background in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry

    This role involves the ability to:

    • Lift objects of different weights and shapes
    • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
    • Perform various physical tasks such as reaching, bending, climbing, etc.
