    We are looking to add a Sales and Guest Services Coordinator for our Homewood Suites & Hilton Garden Inn Jacksonville Downtown Southbank hotel. Our Homewood Suites & Hilton Garden Inn hotel opened in 2009, and features 221 well-appointed guest rooms (between the two properties), 1,200+ square feet of banquet space, plus a pool, fitness center and many other amenities. These properties are led by a very talented and friendly Management Team that focuses on superior levels of guest satisfaction and overall excellence in every aspect of hotel operation. You will be an essential member of the sales team by: calling on key contacts, telemarketing, completing site tours, contracts, booking rooms, making contacts and re-booking repeat business. To ensure each guest receives the Greatest Customer Experience by effectively communicating guest's and Team Member's needs to appropriate departments.

    This position will require you to commit to 3 shifts as a Sales Coordinator and 2 shifts as a Guest Service Agent.

    Requirements:

    Job Requirements:

    • Maintain banquet and meeting rooms.
    • Coordinate guest requests with operational personnel.
    • Promote positive morale and friendly attitudes.
    • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner: function sheets, changes in guest requests i.e. guarantees, set ups, contracts, etc.
    • Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
    • Maintain Hilton brand training and certifications.
    • Assist with other areas as assigned by the Director of Sales.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Two to three full years of full employment in hotel or service industry experience.
    • Sales experience preferred.
    • Must have experiential knowledge for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities, advanced knowledge of sales/hospitality principles and practices.
    • Have a working knowledge of all Hilton, or equivalent, hotel systems, reports, meeting/ banquet room capabilities and forms used in a hotel sales office.
    • Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures.
    • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales/marketing field and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
    • Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests and corporate clients.
    • Confident and outgoing personality.
    • Proven record of independent, self-motivated work habits.
    • Effective time management principles and organizational skills.
    • Strong English writing skills with proven verbal communication.
    • Dependable transportation.
    • Travel may be required.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
