M-F 9AM - 6PM, 1 hour Lunch Break, OT May Apply


Pay Range:
$17-$23/hour


Essential Job Functions

  • Works closely with Purchasing Manager to ensure adequate volume of products and notify Manger of any volume and inventory discrepancies
  • Physically pick various items or receive shipment, inspecting their quantities and qualities in the warehouse.
  • Closely examine incoming/outgoing shipments for quality
  • Picks and assembles customer orders accurately as indicated on the pick list
  • Assist receiving with unloading, stocking, and inventory check in a timely manner
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and inventory
  • Load and unload trucks with forklift
  • Receives other deliveries, i.e. UPS/FEDEX
  • Unloads oversea containers manually
  • Coordinates with manager to assemble deliveries and oncall customer orders
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by providing accurate order assembly
  • Organize and rotate company storage items
  • Stock and retrieve supplies and chopsticks from storage areas
  • Participate in the weekly warehouse meetings
  • Outside cleaning as needed
  • Processing and packaging seasonal calendars
  • Other duties as required from manager
  • Obligation to answer to all management as requested
  • Picks and processes food items as needed for shipment
  • Coordinates with Manager for placement of stored products
  • Sets up both stock and vendor numbers
  • Ensure supply product meets level of standards
  • Works with Purchasing Manager to facilitate tasks for department
  • Work with warehouse department to ensure correct quantity, satisfactory quality, and proper receiving of purchased goods
  • Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
  • Other duties as required by manager
  • Obligation to answer to all management as requested

Physical Requirements

  • Use of warehouse equipment, i.e. Forklifts, Jack handles, sealing machines, etc.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
  • Experience in food industry, preferably in Japanese food industry is plusAble to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • Standing and walking for an extended period of time

  • Working Conditions
  • Noise Level: Normal to loud while in the office
  • Temperature fluctuations while in Warehouse

Other Requirements

  • Able to read/write/speak/listen English required
  • Japanese language/reading skills a plus
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Intermediate mathematical knowledge profit margin calculations, markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred
  • Knowledge of Japanese pottery and dishes preferred
