Evaluation Project Coordinator.


The University of Chicago Medicine's (UCM) Urban Health Initiative (UHI) is committed to meeting the health needs of Chicago's South Side communities.

It assesses community health needs, manages strategies (e.g., programs, partnerships) to respond to these needs, and measures impacts on the community.

As part of UChicago Medicine's Level 1 adult trauma care center, the Violence Recovery Program (VRP) is a hospital-based violence intervention program, working to build a Violence Recovery Model for survivors of intentional violence and their families.

The UHI oversees the VRP the Violence Recovery Model and is responsible for evaluation of the program model. The evaluation project coordinator will facilitate and coordinate the monitoring and evaluation processes for the Violence Recovery Program.


Essential Job Functions:

Data management: Oversee data collection and management, coordinates the flow of data, obtains information from electronic and paper sources to complete reports, and organizes data in a manner that is accessible and usable.

Analysis and reporting: Produces standard and ad hoc reporting/data queries: provides accurate, concise reports to appropriate areas.

Quality assurance: Ensures that data collection and storage meet state funding requirements, audits information gathering processes. Formulates systems of checks and balances to increase reliability of data. Recommends and takes action to direct solutions of problems. Develops tools to improve and standardize processes as applicable. Supports multidisciplinary work groups in consensus building.


Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree in social work, public health, public policy, research methods, evaluation, social science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience designing, monitoring, and evaluating programs or research studies, preferably in the health sector.
  • Experience writing findings and recommendations in assessment or evaluation reports.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical software (i.e., SAS, R, Stata, SPSS)
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to speak articulately in highlevel forums and to answer difficult questions with confidence.
  • Requires prior experience managing multiple large projects and working effectively in multidisciplinary groups. Past experience working with clinicians is preferred.
  • Must be selfmotivated: given appropriate direction for goals, must be able to work autonomously in a sometimes ambiguous and changing environment
  • Maintains strong working relationships with the faculty and staff of the Medical Center, community partners, and the UHI staff.
