SUMMARY OF COMPANY

Southwest Shipyard, LP provides gas freeing and cleaning services, steaming, and flaring services, Barge and boat repair, Surface preparation and painting, water treatment and new construction services to the commercial and government marine industry. Southwest Shipyard owns and operates four (4) shipyards in South Texas with direct deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. JOB SUMMARY
This position provides accurate and data-based information on a company's profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. You will research and analyze financial information to help companies make well-informed decisions, write reports, and monitor financial movements.


RESPONSIBILITIES
This position's job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and design of the Detail Department Annual Budget/Forecast (bottom-up approach).
  • Assist with the development of internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, revenue recognition and POC.
  • Conduct financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations and potential cost savings and articulate rationale for cost savings opportunities including results of sourcing metrics to Executive leadership.
  • Review actual data vs. forecasts/quotes, investigate cost variances, develop tools for improving the forecasting, and trend analysis. Summarize results and report recommendations to management.
  • Oversee project cost/budget reporting and ensures timely reporting and coordination across departments to ensure expected profitability of projects.
  • Originate new systemic approaches to gathering, capturing, tracking, and mining data.
  • Creative ad hoc analysis to support management decisionmaking in new business initiatives. This will include preparing and reviewing a variety of complex financial data and will maintain and update the marketing/sales financial models and forecasts.
  • Assist the CFO to facilitate and manage budgeting, forecasting, longterm planning, and implementation of strategic planning initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly reporting to the board of directors
  • With time, the Analyst will help develop, maintain, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and recommend process improvements across departments.
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
  • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven working experience as a Finance Analyst 2.

Salary Range:
The allocated salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 annually
