Job Description

K9s For Warriors is the nation's largest provider of service dogs to veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Our unique, in-house program helps change the lives of American heroes by pairing them with a battle buddy, who was likely a rescue dog and then teaching him or her to utilize that dog to mitigate the symptoms of their wounds. In order to continue the great work, we are doing, we are in need of a Data Manager to join our amazing team

Role and Responsibilities

Under the general direction and supervision of the Chief Operating & Information Officer, the Data Manager is to ensure the integrity of master data within K9s For Warriors and applicable systems. The data Manager will also ensure adherence to the processes defined for creation, changes to, maintaining, and retiring master data, including data ownership, data management processes, data standards, and optimization for efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Enforces K9s' data policies, business processes, and continuous improvement of master data creation and maintenance are strictly adhered to, ensuring that the working practices align with the company's operating model and standard operating procedures
Serves as the Project Manager in planning and implementing appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the business and deliver any implementations on time, budget, and quality
Responsible for the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
Focuses on essential master data management processes, governance, controls, data migration & integration, data maintenance, data quality assurance & control, backup strategies, and archiving
Sets and monitors quality standards for master data and its attributes, such as metrics and KPIs
Ensures security and compliance for data are defined that adheres to privacy laws, industry regulations, and corporate compliance mandates
Works cross functionally with teams to identify and act on opportunities for consistent process improvement
Serves as Systems Administrator to manage data systems to ensure transparency, fidelity, accuracy, and access control of key users
Builds reports and create dashboards to help guide K9s leadership
Liaise with IT company
Manage company computers and technology
Other projects as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Database Management, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 2+ years of work experience with database systems and management, including data collection, data visualization, report generation, data cleaning, mapping, and manipulation
Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills, both oral and written
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Salesforce, Smartsheet, Blackbaud, or other similar systems
Strategic thinker and good analytical skills
Strong track record of delivering complex data projects on time and within budget, and able to interact with business partners and multiple teams
Energetic, detailed oriented, able to adhere to deadlines promptly
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated, strong leadership, customer-oriented, interpersonal and communication skills
