General Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for handling all aspects of surplus auctions.
Strategizing:
Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to maximize the value of products across all auctions, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
Client Relations:
Forge strong relationships with consignors, providing personalized support to ensure a positive experience throughout the auction process.
Expert Support:
Serve as the go-to resource for inquiries regarding surplus items, offering guidance and assistance to clients before, during, and after auctions.
Team Leadership:
Lead and motivate a team of surplus processors, setting clear productivity goals and providing ongoing support to drive success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team that Receives/Sorts/Processes/Lots all inbound customer assets
- Verify that Received/Processed assets are assigned to the correct Consignors/Customers
- Audit Descriptions/Photos to ensure accuracy and appearance
- Ensure consignor statements are accurate after each auction
- Assist customers with questions about invoices and statements
- Report to Management the productivity of the team
- Actively participates in Safety Program activities
Supervisory responsibility:
- Managing a team of six Surplus Yard Associates.
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 2+ years of warehouse experince required
- 2+ years of leading a team required
Skills:
- Strong computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Oulook
- Certified to drive forklifts
- Superior attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and customer communication skills
- Operate forklifts (if certified)
- Maintains a clean driving record in order to operate facility box truck
Ability:
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and successfully meet several deadlines at once while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible, adapt, and do what it takes to execute initiatives.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment manual pallet jack, dock leveler, scale, etc.
Work Conditions/ Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a typical indoor/outdoor yard environment
- Some lifting (up to 50 pounds) may be required
Location:
- Work location: Sierra Auction N 35th Dr, Phoenix, AZ 8501
- Work hours are typically 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday
- Friday.
