A workday with us

At our center for intensive rehabilitation, we specialize in treating severely and chronically ill patients. Our main focus at the weaning center is weaning patients off of mechanical ventilation.

As a respiratory therapist (DGP) (m/f/d), you will support us in the following tasks:


  • Caring for and monitoring patients with invasive and noninvasive ventilation systems, highflow and oxygen therapy, and mechanical cough assistance (initiation, mask selection, adjustment and optimization), as well as managing related equipment and instructing nursing staff on its use
  • Checking and adjusting ventilation settings as needed
  • Collaborating with the team on nonhospital ventilation, regularly participating in rounds and implementing/coordinating discussed measures
  • Educating patients and their families on the use of ventilation and oxygen devices
  • Teaching selfhelp techniques for shortness of breath, coughing, and emergency situations
  • Adjusting cough assistance and performing inhalation therapies
  • Ensuring competent implementation of medically prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic measures according to our treatment concept for prolonged weaning
  • Evaluating blood gas analyses, lung and cough function
  • Working closely with our ENT department
  • Participating in and coordinating the discharge management of nonhospital ventilated patients and in the prescription of medical aids
  • Managing tracheal tubes
  • Managing masks, including cleaning and maintenance
  • Regularly attending training and sharing respiratory therapy knowledge and skills.
