About the position: We are in search of a full-time RN to assist with post-surgery patient recovery and circulate during procedures in the OR. Depending on the day's surgical schedule, the work hours may fall between 6:30 am - 6:00 pm. This role involves aiding in the restoration and promotion of health for H/K/B patients through the completion of the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and a diverse team; and offering physical and psychological support to patients, their loved ones, and friends.

Expectations in the role:

Setting up the operating room with the necessary equipment for surgical procedures
Administering medications and preparing them
Serving as assistance to Anesthesia providers whenever required
Prepping patients for surgery by sterilizing and disinfecting the operation areas
Remaining on-site to address any immediate needs
Engaging in intraoperative charting
Maintaining stock levels of sterile surgical equipment, fabrics, and supplies in the OR
Devising and executing nursing care plans for surgical patients
Recognizing patient care needs through establishing personal connections with potential and current patients and individuals who grasp these needs
Cultivating a caring atmosphere by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual backing to patients, their friends, and family members
Fostering patient independence by defining care objectives; educating patients, friends, and family about conditions, medications, and self-care techniques; and addressing inquiries
Solving patient concerns and necessities
Being able to promptly address alterations in patient or unit conditions
Ensuring a sanitary and secure workspace by adhering to protocols, guidelines, and rules; requesting aid from healthcare support personnel when necessary
Protecting patients and staff by complying with infection control policies, medication administration and storage protocols, and controlled substance regulations

Desired qualities in a candidate:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU/recovery and OR circulating
Associate's degree mandatory; Bachelor's degree preferred
Equivalent blend of education and hands-on experience
Current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications are prerequisites
Existing industry experience would be advantageous
