The German Diabetes Center (DDZ) is a Leibniz Center for Diabetes Research at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

As an interdisciplinary research institution, the DDZ connects molecular and cellular basic research with clinical, epidemiological, and health services research approaches.


The DDZ aims to develop new approaches for the prevention, early detection, and diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, and to improve the treatment and care of diabetes and its complications.

The Institute for Clinical Diabetology at the DDZ (Director: Prof. Dr.

Michael Roden), Energy Metabolism Research Group, in collaboration with the Clinic for Endocrinology and Diabetology (Director:
Prof. Dr.

Michael Roden) at the University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD), is seeking a full-time
Certified Diabetes Educator (m/f/d) to cover a parental leave starting on January 1, 2023.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Counseling and education of people with diabetes mellitus, as well as nutritional counseling at the UKD
Participation in nutrition-specific studies at the DDZ

Conducting training and continuing education events

Quality management

Participation in research projects


We expect from you:


  • Basic training as a dietitian, background in nutrition science (e.g. degree in nutrition science) desirable but not
