Description
Cohen Children's Medical Center, The Department of Pediatrics of Northwell Health, and The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell seek a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. In addition to supporting the patient care, research, and education missions of CCMC, a goal of this position would be to serve as the clinical lead in our Western Region which includes Brooklyn and Manhattan. The ideal applicant for this position would have at least 5 years of experience and has interest in leading program development.
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology includes 13 full-time faculty members including two pediatric hepatologists as well as an ACGME approved Fellowship program. The Division has a been a long-time center of excellence in Pediatric IBD which includes a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, advance practice nurses, dieticians, and social worker. Expertise in intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition disorders, a comprehensive aerodigestive program, and advanced biliary endoscopy are among other well-developed programs fully supported by a multispecialty, cohesive team approach. There is a long-standing clinical research program that now includes three research coordinators.
Cohen Children's Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area's only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, it is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, treating over 230,000 children per year and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health System and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island.
