Job Summary:


Responsible for managing the clinical operations of multiple centers within a narrowly defined geographic market under the supervision of the Clinical Operations Director (COD).

The span of control is between 4 and 8 centers, including Center Manager responsibilities of one center.

The Manager of Clinical Operations will achieve specific financial, employee relations, customer service and clinical metrics through strong leadership and effective management of staff and customers.


Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include the management of operations of four to eight centers. Assure efficient caseload management and scheduling of patients within centers assigned.
Manage practice to meet or exceed financial objectives. Participate in the development of financial goals/center assigned.
Manage labor costs and ensure that clinicians report required information accurately and on time.
Conduct monthly clinical operations meeting with each Center Manager. Employ effective, clinically focused communications skills to ensure clinicians follow through with effective clinical practice management procedures.
Assist COD in managing new facility startups.

Provide clinical treatment coverage as required for a narrowly defined geographic market and act as Center Manager of assigned clinic.

Patient care and administrative duty ratios of 50%, respectively.

Ensure all Rehab Agency, State, Federal and local regulations, policies, procedures, and patient care standards are met in assigned centers.

Serve as a clinical resource and effectively implement programs, clinical pathways and treatment protocols as indicated.
Identify open positions and assist in selection of clinical staff in conjunction with the Center Manager. Assist in staff orientation and training.
Conduct accurate and timely Performance Planning & Reviews (PP&R) of Center Managers with specific focus on development plans. Provide professional development opportunities for staff, including participation in local and regional professional meetings, conferences, and college relations activities.

Coordinate patient care development opportunities for clinical staff as appropriate and recommend staff for recognition of outstanding performance and achievement.

Essential Functions (continued):

Conduct routine and quarterly quality assurance and corporate compliance audits as assigned. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures on an annual basis.
Periodically (at least quarterly) review results of outcome program measures and develop plans to improve patient care where needed. Develop plans of action and ensure good outcomes of deficiencies noted in routine and investigative compliance audits.
Attending center staff meetings on a periodic basis. Attend marketing, public relations and in-service programs in partnership with staff as appropriate.
Ensure strong physician and payer relations and coordinate implementation of clinical specialty programs as requested by the customer.
Participate and lead annual Patient Care Committee and sub-committee meetings; communicate and develop working relationships with Agency Medical Directors.
Plan and coordinate clinic and market-specific marketing and relationship building activities with Center Managers, COD and Business Development team.
Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Credentials:

Entry-Level Professional Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
Current valid professional license in associated clinical discipline (PT or OT)
Minimum five years of clinical expertise, including two years of successful clinical operations management
