ITC is seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to be a member of our LESIS team supporting our customer at the Department of Justice.

This individual will support a new project for the organization in establishing and maintain a National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD) as a centralized repository of official records documenting instances of law enforcement officer misconduct as well as commendations and awards.


Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Law Enforcement Services and Information Sharing (LESIS) Section serves as the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Systems Agency (CSA) for hundreds of DOJ, as well as other Federal and Tribal public safety agencies and entities.

It is responsible for establishing and administering an information technology security program across its User Agencies while providing the technical capabilities to access national crime information systems for authorized criminal and non-criminal justice purposes.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data and customer information
  • Responsible for providing a vision of how data should be collected across multiple data points, complied, used and presented.
  • Work closely with the PMO team to develop effective data visualization enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions, identify risk and program management strategies
  • Collaborate with PMO and SDS staff to understand statistical requirements to provide visual charts and reports for understanding the data
  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns driving decision points and solutions
  • Create clear concise and compelling visualizations such as charts and dashboards to effectively communicate related information to stakeholders
  • Engaged and active role with NLEAD program activities, enhancements, and problem resolution
  • Communicate directly with the Program Manager, Action Officer, and Technical Manager
  • Engage with Senior government officials and PMO staff to solve complex problems with very little oversight or guidance
  • Analyze and assess information, data, and metrics to turn into actionable tasks and direction
  • Assist PM in managing program performance and quality of program
  • Assist with resolving issues/conflicts and overall program success
  • Support customer support and coordination with more than one hundred federal agencies

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data visualization/data science
  • Bachelor's Degree, required; advanced degree preferred
  • Independent selfstarter with strong affinity for numbers and quantitative data
  • Expertise with charting and other data visualization techniques
  • Experience in maintaining reporting, reviewing the analytics, and dashboard functionality
  • Prior experience in the federal government and with government contracting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Senior Governrment staff (DOJ and other Federal Agencies)
  • Ability to develop/edit and brief presentations and planning documentation for senior Government staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in an illdefined workspace (not a clear scope) i.e. helping to build out a new program/processes
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, SQL, and ability to script (PowerShell)
  • Experience with Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, and Teams
