Job Summary:


The Accounts Receivable Clerk will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.

Could also assist with routine accounting tasks including accounts payable, billing and receivables.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • None

Essential Job Functions:


  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
  • Drafts correspondence for standard pastdue accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
  • Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
  • Research customer discrepancies and pastdue amounts with the assistance of the AR Manager and other staff.
  • Collaborates with the AR Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis.
  • Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
  • Assists Accounting team in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
  • Could assist with routine data entry for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and general ledger
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment that is fast paced.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with employees and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy of work.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on the phone, attending virtual online meetings, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
