Assistant coaches are required to have the following training prior to working with any athletes.
*Background check
*Safety Course (Every other year.)
*First Aide/CPR/AED Training

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification by the Kentucky Department of Education or approved paraprofessional.
SUPERVISES:
Athletes
JOB GOAL:
To assist the head coach in meeting the criteria for a successful program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Year around
a.
Has understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations regarding the sport as presented by the KHSAA.
b.
Keeps abreast of all rules and rule changes.
c.
Assists head coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
2.Seasonal
a.
Assists head coach in proper registration of all athletes.
b.
Assists head coach in making systematic issuance of equipment.
c.
Meets with squad to discuss all rules and regulations, with specific emphasis on the Athletic Guidelines.
d.
Assumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities.
e.
Assumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned and over all athletes when such control is needed.
f.
Is in regular attendance at practice sessions.
g.
Applies discipline in a firm and positive manner.
h.
Emphasizes safety precautions; is aware of test training procedures and injury preventive action.
i.
Conducts self in an ethical manner during contests and practice.
3.End of season
a.
Assists in return, storage and inventory of school equipment.
b.
Additional responsibilities occurring during the season may be assigned such as scouting opponents.
4.Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, the Assistant Principal for Athletics or the Principal.
