Associate Paralegal, PlayStation Studios

San Mateo, CA (hybrid) -_ will require coming into office 2x a week*_


Responsibilities:


  • Build strong relationships with business clients by partnering with toptier game development studios and other internal stakeholders to provide legal support under the supervision of attorneys.
  • Review video game assets, features, packaging and marketing materials for release, conducting intellectual property clearance (copyright, trademark, right of publicity) and reviewing for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company standards and game rating standards.
  • Perform trademark and copyright clearance searches.
  • Assist the business in execution of promotions, including drafting sweepstakes and contest rules and reviewing promotion creative assets for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Build and maintain a solid understanding of the video game industry, PlayStation's portfolio of products and services, and relevant law by keeping up with industry news and attending legal conferences.

Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in intellectual property, technology, marketing/advertising, promotions or entertainment law, inhouse or at a law firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Paralegal experience.
  • Ability to assess priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion for video games is not required, but nice to have.
