- Master's Degree
- Four years of business office experience in,preferably in a large medical practice with increasing levels ofresponsibility.
- Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in NewYork State
- Minimum Work Related Experience: 5 to 8 years.
- Preferred Work Experience: 8 plus Years
- Takes histories, performs physical examinations,gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
- Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for labwork if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
- Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, andconsults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referralswhen appropriate.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentationand reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears andreportable STD's
- Attends case conferences involving patients.
- Attends continuing education programs toincrease skills and knowledge.
- Attends provider meetings and participates inquality improvement programs and team assignments.
- Identifies and categorizes each patient'sage-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatricpatients.
- Follows OSHA standards of infection controlunder CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and overseen byInfection Control Officer.
- Provides safe and successful performance,including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orallyand written)
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment proceduresthat nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing inhealth care centers.
- Competence in delivery of health care topatients (including preventative health education)
- Ability to collaborate with other members of theHealth Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve clientsatisfaction.

Job DescriptionNon-Profit Health Center issearching for a full time Nurse Practitioner. Under the direction of aphysician the NP is responsible for planning, evaluating and delivering thehealth care of patients on assigned service.
