This position is located in the Division of Executive Budget and Finance, State Controller's Office , and is headquartered at the DOA Office Building at 101 E. Wilson Street, Madison, WI 53703.
Based on current DEBF policy and the business needs within the unit, this position would work from their headquarter location at least two days per week with the possibility of working from home the remaining days.

Position Summary
This Advanced Auditor position will be responsible for leading audits of state agencies, as well as leading lower-level auditors in their responsibilities. These audits can include operational and compliance audits and shall be performed in compliance with internal standards, including concepts from Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
Audits of agencies are intended to determine compliance with applicable statutes, state policies, DOA guidelines, and other requirements. Agencies subject to audit cover all statutory and GAAP funds, all funding types (GPR, PR, and SEG) and can include very complex transaction cycles that require the knowledge and application of professional accounting and auditing theories and principles. This position will confer with management on recommendations and the implementation process and make independent decisions and recommendations for all audit aspects.
In addition, t his position leads, in coordination with the Financial Management Supervisor of the Audit Services Section, the review of state agencies' SEFA submissions and the update to the State Single Audit Guide.

Salary Information
The Auditor Advanced is in schedule-range with a salary between $80,000 and $88,400 as well as excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule and will be expected to work at the headquartered location at least two days per week. Qualifications
Minimum Qualification : Professional training in accounting or auditing such as that which would be acquired by earning a Bachelor's Degree in accounting or auditing from an accredited post secondary college/university; or commensurate experience and training.
