Job Summary


Support the API Statistics Program by analyzing statistical data, designing surveys, and perform benchmarking studies while overseeing the production of recurring and one-time statistical reports.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with the Weekly Statistical Bulletin (WSB) team to produce the WSB report including data entry and processing; auditing the data to ensure data quality and accuracy; and report generation.
  • Oversee the production of the daily price reports on AAA, OPIS, and NYMEX.
  • Oversee the production of the weekly Gasoline and Distillate Fuels update report.
  • Analyze Statistical data and provide support to API advocacy programs and communications and external customers.
  • Work with crossfunctional teams on designing, creating, and editing surveys, data analysis, benchmarking, and report generation.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager in providing support to the Department of Policy Analysis in the production of the Monthly Statistical Report.
  • Provide Communications with information needed to write press releases and communications materials, as necessary.
  • Identify research, analysis, and business opportunities to better serve API member companies and to generate revenues for the Program.
  • Contribute to the development of a Statistics Program Procedures Manual, documenting processes and procedures used in the collection, management, and distribution of data.

Key Relationships

  • Coordinate with API staff and managers to develop and deliver Statistics Department work products.
  • Work with IT staff engaged in programming report code.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in statistical issues (incl. data analysis and survey designs) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team orientation are essential.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent skills with Word, Excel, and Microsoft Access.
  • Familiarity with either SAS, SQL, Python, R, VBA, and Forsta (or similar survey software/tools) is a bonus.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer.
  • Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc. on occasion.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines.
  • Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25%
