The Department of Economic Sciences and Media at the Ilmenau University of Technology (TU Ilmenau, Germany) is seeking a Computer Scientist (M.Sc./Diploma) to join the Virtual Worlds and Digital Games Group as a Research Associate (M/F/d) as soon as possible.

The CO-HUMANICS project aims to create a collaborative Augmented Reality environment for seniors to receive assistance in their homes. This includes creating lifelike virtual representations of remote participants and seamlessly integrating them into the local environment.

We are looking for a colleague to work on creating believable avatars and enabling users to easily create their own personal, lifelike avatars that can interact with other remote and local users.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct research as part of the project under the direction of the Principal Investigator
  • Collaborate with team members and project partners, sharing and integrating developments
  • Produce highquality publications and present research findings at conferences
  • Report regularly on the progress of the research project
  • Stay updated on relevant publications and advancements in the field
  • Implement and evaluate reference algorithms for avatar generation, integration, and animation
  • Realize methods for seamless integration of user avatars and their behavior in remote environments
