Chandler Behavioral Health is a community-based counseling agency committed to providing high-quality emotional and mental health care to children, adults, and families.

We are seeking a full-time substance abuse counselor who has been certified as either a CSAC or CSAC-S.

This counselor is instrumental in our persons served treatment and recovery; they provide high-quality, compassionate care through various mediums - including both individual and group counseling sessions.

The counselor will plan, oversee, facilitate, and document the individual's recovery.

The person will serve as a valuable member within the following program:
IOP.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small caseload of individuals providing comprehensive services and interventions that will reduce the individual's risk of a higher level of care.
  • Prepares written service plans utilizing the teambased approach within the agency to develop measurable treatment goals.
  • Provide direct services to the individuals using a variety of evidencedbased psychoeducational techniques.
  • Provide the appropriate progress note documentation on a daily or weekly basis (at a minimum).
  • Engage in group and individual sessions weekly in persons home, community or agency facility.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports on a monthly basis and provide them to the appropriate referral source as required.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other caseinvolved service providers and professionals such as personnel, attorneys, social workers, and probation officers.

Must have exceptional knowledge of:

  • Must possess a certification (CSAC or CSAC-S)
  • Effective substance use disorders treatment modalities or bestpractice approaches
  • Principles and techniques of basic interviewing and assessment techniques
  • Working knowledge of human services systems, roles of human service personnel, and relevant community resources;
  • Support and problemsolving strategies that use critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • How to have effective working relationships with social services providers, and their client's;
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in oral and written clinical skills.
